Trapezoids and Trees

My paintings take shape in two very different ways. Sometimes I paint as a realist. I'm drawn to the simple drama of everyday scenes. In my realistic paintings I may try to capture the light and shadow on a figure, or evening rays glorifying a rustic road just before sunset.

At other times I like to paint abstractly. When I do that I love the adventure of going into the unknown. The process of experimenting with materials, asking what if… ? Working intuitively leads me to unpredictable outcomes.
